What is the meaning of

?

Uayki comes from the Quechua Wayki which means brother or friend. Although depending on the context, Uayki can mean to lend a hand. Precisely what we aim to achieve by empowering our users through the digital age.

Our mission is to connect and empower disadvantaged populations currently disconnected from the digital age by providing them with unlimited access to opportunities for change through the Uayki system.

Digitization

Our technology does not require internet, is very portable, low cost and requires minimal power consumption which facilitates the deployment of the system in any location. The Uayki System, unlike the Internet, always guarantees high connection speeds simultaneously, limits access to inappropriate content, and gives you complete autonomy since you do not depend on telecommunications operators.

What is Uayki?

Uayki is a Peruvian social initiative (Foundation & Company), founded more than 7 years ago in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Uayki is currently dedicated to creating and implementing innovative solutions that promote the empowerment of disadvantaged communities through connectivity and access to education and culture, telemedicine, employability and entrepreneurship and other opportunities that promote the development of the entire population.

What is the Uayki system?

The Uayki System allows a large number of users to connect simultaneously to a network that gives them fast, friendly and free access to an ecosystem of digital platforms and content from any device and in any location, even where internet access is very slow, expensive or far from available.

Why is the Uayki system necessary?

Internet access in remote rural areas is not available or is very expensive and unreliable. This generates a context where even with electricity, Internet access and network compatible devices (smart phones, tablets, laptops) it is not possible for multiple users to connect without problems. This problem means that approximately 40% of the global population does not have reliable Internet access. Having the Uayki System allows us to generate huge savings and connect today low-income populations located in peri-urban and rural areas that are decades away from accessing the best opportunities of the digital era.

Does the Uayki system replace the Internet or does it also complement it?

It should be noted that the Uayki System can work hand in hand with the Internet, even with very limited bandwidth, so that the platforms and available content can be updated weekly, while generating usability reports. Although internet access is not essential for the operation of the Uayki System, having a connection allows to further enhance the benefits of the system, even facilitating users to download online content and then share them on Uayki's platforms, thus benefiting the entire user community without limits.

How to access the Uayki system?

In order to access the Uayki System users must activate their WiFi (in case they are connected from a mobile device they must turn off their data), select the Uayki World WiFi network, once the captive portal (Pop-up) appears, copy the link www.u.com and then paste it in the search bar of your browser (eg. Chrome), press the "Enter" button and you are ready. You will now be in the Uayki World welcome menu where you will have multiple useful platforms ready to be used... If you require further assistance you can click on the "? Tutorials" button where you will find different guides that will help you get familiar with the system.

What does the Ucloud content portal (Virtual Library) consist of?

The Ucloud virtual library is a customizable platform that guarantees a very friendly and secure user experience, while inviting people of all ages to easily discover new interests and develop different skills through our more than 200 learning categories and playlists where more than 2 million educational and cultural contents are organized in all types of multimedia formats (e.g. Videos, PDFs, Audios, Apps, Images, Office Files, etc...). In turn, Ucloud includes all the digital content of the Peruvian Ministry of Education provided through its programs "Aprendo en Casa" and "PeruEduca".

What other complementary services are available in the Uayki world?

Ucloud (Biblioteca Virtual Educativa & Cultural), Uadmin (Panel de administración), Wikipedia (Kiwix), Uanunclos (Mensajes, Actividades & Comercio), Umultimedia (Filmes & Música para el Entretenimiento), Uapps (Repositorio de Aplicaciones Móviles Educativas), asimismo incluye accesos rápidos a Ucloud a través de AprendoEnCasa, Ulibros, Ueducación, Uempleabilidad, Ubienestar, Usostenibilidad.

Hay que destacar que fuera de estos servicios el Mundo Uayki permite integrar nuevas plataformas a su ecosistema.

Does the Uayki System help protect users from Internet risks?

The Uayki System helps ensure a safe and risk-free user experience by preventing access to inappropriate content on its platforms. It should be noted that more than 60% of internet traffic worldwide is based on access to platforms and content of pornography, violence, morbidity, among others, so the filters and restrictions of Uayki World help users to have access only to the best of the digital age and not to the dangers of it.

How can I support the Uayki Initiative?

What programs does the Uayki initiative currently implement?

Uayki is currently implementing the "Rally Bicentenario - Todos Conectados" program for the benefit of the 25 regions of Peru and is also carrying out the "Todos Conectados" program with the objective of promoting development and reducing migration in the Central American triangle (Guatemala, Honduras & El Salvador). These are the two main programs that Uayki has been implementing although new projects continue to be carried out in different regions of Peru with the help of different allies of the initiative such as mining companies, agricultural, energy, infrastructure, NGOs, among others.

Toda persona puede convertirse en un actor de cambio al donar un Kit Uayki de forma parcial o total con el objetivo de promover el desarrollo personal y profesional de jóvenes y adultos de bajos recursos que no tienen la posibilidad de acceder a una conexión a internet confiable.
